ABOUT
Golden Strategies is a consulting firm for companies and publishers looking to build or improve their sales strategy within the political and issue advocacy market. I act as a Washington thought leadership consultant by providing an overview of the media landscape, building a narrative for your brand that will resonate in the market, making introductions to key players, and preparing organizations to start off on the right foot as they enter the world of Washington, DC. I also work with startups (in any industry) that are looking to build a professional sales organization from the ground up.
JENNA GOLDEN
I am a successful sales and business leader with 19+ years of experience in the Washington, DC market. Over the past few years I have built Golden Strategies and have had the pleasure of working with an incredible roster of clients including LinkedIn, MiQ, Nextdoor, Recount Media, Tumblr, and Vice Media to name a few. Before starting my own company I ran the political and advocacy sales team at Twitter, Inc. and was responsible for building paid partnerships with political campaigns, national trade associations, issue advocacy groups, and government entities. On a daily basis I worked to educate the Washington sector on Twitter’s advertising products, and to help them maximize potential on the platform. During my tenure at Twitter, I regularly spoke at conferences and events about the intersection between Twitter and politics, and how the platform can be used for grassroots and advocacy. Reporters sought out my expertise during the 2016 election cycle and I was featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNBC and USA Today among other top publications. In addition, I also appeared on live television to discuss effective Twitter advertising strategies on behalf of the 2016 presidential candidates. I was an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies teaching Digital Communications Strategy from 2015-2016.
Prior to Twitter, I was the Associate Publisher of The New Republic magazine where I was responsible for all advertising revenues across print, online, and the live events space. Before The New Republic I managed partnerships at National Journal magazine with top national trade associations and coalitions. I have a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and an M.A. in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University.
